While the GPPSB held its grand mobilization, opposition candidates also wrapped up their campaigns in various states. Despite the challenges posed by external pressures and internal divisions, opposition leaders emphasized the importance of participating in the electoral process as a path to change. In the Guayana Esequiba region, Democratic Action candidates urged citizens to exercise their voting rights, highlighting the elections as a decisive moment for Venezuela’s future.
A Democratic Process Secured by the People and the Plan República
The May 25 elections will fill 569 public offices, including 285 seats in the National Assembly, 24 governorships, and 260 seats in state legislative councils. Over 6,000 candidates are competing, reflecting the vibrancy of Venezuela’s multiparty democracy.
To guarantee the security and transparency of the vote, the Plan República has been activated, deploying more than 490,000 officials, including 412,000 members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), across over 15,000 polling stations. This massive effort ensures that the 21,458,669 eligible voters can cast their ballots freely, directly, and secretly, defending the sovereignty and dignity of the Venezuelan people against any threats.
